Lack of Teachers, Classrooms, and Small Salary
Elementary School INPRES of Selil Village have 25 students and 3 teachers: one is a civil servant and other two are honorary teachers. Consequently, every teacher handled two grades. We hope the Regency Office for Education can help us to assign at least 3 more teachers, please!
This school was built in 2006-2007. The building have 3 classrooms. In fact, we have 6 different grades. No choices, we divided every classroom into two separate parts to be occupied by two different grades. Obviously, we need 3 more classrooms and also a separate room for teachers and school library.
As a honorary teacher, I myself have received a small salary of IDR 200,000 (USD 22.2) per month. Anyway, I and my colleagues never made any complaint. We believe that God have given us hands, foots, and brains. We are still able enough go to the forest, tapping rubber trees to earn additional income. The most important is education process for our children here lasting longer and forever. The school should not closed and stop. This is our responsibility. However, we ask the government to put more attention on our situation in this remote place.

Lack Number of School Teachers
In Elementary School of YPPK St. Fransiskus Xaverius, Wayau Village, there are 5 teachers consists of 3 civil servants and 2 honorary tecahers. However, one of those civil servants has never come. Since 2005, he has only came for two weeks and never appears anymore. Total number of students is 114, so, we need at least 2 more regular teachers. Can government assist us with new teachers?

Special Scholarship for Marind Schoolkids
In Elementary School of YPPK St. Fransiskus Xaverius in Wayau Village, we have trimonthly received regular subsidy of IDR 10 millions (USD 1,110) for school operational costs and IDR 6 millions (USD 660) annually for other running costs. All of the money have been used for procuring school equipments and uniforms of the students and routine management and working expenses. It is very helpful but better if there are special scholarship for local Marind school children here, particularly for them who are coming from poorest families.

Students Using Local Languange, Teachers Have Difficulties
In Elementary School of YPPK in Zanegi Village, almost of students speaking in local Marind language. They are not usual wit Bahasa Indonesia. Consequently, we are the teachers have diffiuclties to communicate and delivering our teaching materials. The Principal have an order that all of students should using Bahasa Indonesia during school hours but not so much took effect. However, we hope them gradually can use Bahasa Indonesia, so, will helpful for us in the process of teaching and learning.

Unclear Future of Local Teachers
In my village, Bupul, there is a kindergarten, namely ‘Fajar Timur‘ (means ‘Eastern Sunshine’ –Ed.). The building is quite nice and there are part-timer teachers in the kindergarten. However, only three of them now still active while another one already inactive, may be for very low salary reason. May district government can put an extra attention on this issue since the future of them is also the future of our children.
While in local elementary school (SD YPPK), there are 1 civil servant who is also a teacher and Headmaster. Other 3 teachers are in-service training (nominated civil servant) teachers, and other 4 teachers are part-time and voluntary teachers. In contrast, those part-time and voluntary teachers who are very active and dedicative but their salaries are very low and even not paid yet along the last year. May government, the Regency Office for Education, can put special attention on this matter, please?
